Who Can Ride?

We are happy to provide transportation to those  60 and over who reside in the 48160 zip code. For the first time in many year we are going to have a rate change effective May 1, 2023

Care partners ride along for at no additional cost.

Our service is ADA compliant, so if you require a wheelchair ramp or other assistance, we can support you.

Where Can I Go?

Any destination up to 20 miles outside of Milan.

When Can I Ride?

We are pleased to offer you transportation
Monday—Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm

Rides are reserved on a first-come/first-served basis.

Scheduling may be made up to a month in advance.

Standing appointments accepted.

Service is closed for federally observed holidays as well as in extreme winter weather.

What Is My Cost?

Fares may be paid via cash, check, or credit card.
If paying by cash, exact fare is required as driver is unable to make change.

Pre-paid cards are available for purchase at the office for any amount.

Fares are charged per ride.
Example: a ride to the bank, the grocery store and home counts as 3 rides

The rates are as follows:
In town: $2.00 each way (City of Milan)
Out of town: 1.50 per mile (rounded up to the nearest dollar)
Member Only: Transportation Card (in-town only) 10 rides/$15.00 Only valid with transportation card

Regular Fare:
$5/mile
Mileage calculated according to the most reasonable route available, rounded to the nearest whole mile.
MSHL maintains sole discretion as to what is considered “reasonable”.

If you need a driver to wait for you:
$2 for up to 10 minutes
$4 for up to 20 minutes

Closed on Federal Holidays & during Extreme Weather

New Year’s Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after,   Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.

For rider safety, in the case of extreme weather, MSHL reserves the right to cancel transportation services. In this event, all scheduled riders will be notified as soon as possible.
